Pull Planning is a workflow planning system that can be applied to any construction process, where all task owners in the process (Architects, Engineers, Sub Trades, Inspectors, Consultants and Foremen) collaborate daily/weekly/monthly, to ensure all project milestones are achieved and any identified impediments or delays, are addressed before they cause disruption.

Course Overview

“Starting at the end and working back”(S. Covey) the task owners identify the last task of a project or project phase (15 weeks) on a flow chart and work backwards from there to identify the optimum sequence of tasks, task duration and resources required to complete these tasks. Blending Lean principles with robust project management, Pull Planning will provide a comprehensive structure of tools and techniques to equip the student with the necessary skills to apply these learnings to immediate effect in the workplace.

Meet Your Trainer

Garry Doyle who is an Industrial Engineer, is a Lean consultant and trainer/mentor that has been involved in all aspects of Lean/Continuous Improvement over the last 30+ years. He is a Lean Black Belt and has worked for Irish, Canadian, American Hungarian and Romanian organisations across the food, medical supply, textiles, construction and FMCG sectors.
His varied organizational roles from managing engineering to directing operations and process design, provide him with hands on experience of how people and processes work together successfully. Garry has also led operations for two timber-frame companies in Europe as well as two curtain wall companies in Canada, always ensuring that the handoff between supplier and construction site was optimized.
His last 10 years have been completely devoted to practicing as a Lean consultant and teaching/ training workforces in the application of lean techniques in their organizations.
